Some days, I miss the woman I was before I started trying to understand everything about myself.
I miss being random.
I miss being light.
I miss having a conversation that didn’t turn into a PDF.
Maybe after all this digging, praying, crying, journaling, reflecting, forgiving, releasing, and trying to become better, there is still a version of me standing there like…
“Girl, can we just live?”
Can we put on lip gloss, make coffee, sit outside, play music, and not make a spiritual meaning out of every little thing?
Because I’m starting to wonder if some of us healed ourselves so much that we forgot how to simply enjoy ourselves.
Do you remember her?
I’m asking y’all because I’m asking myself too.
Where did she go?
Today, I want to remember myself outside of the work.
Today, I want to ask:
Do you recognize the woman you were before you started healing?
And do you miss her too?

Sometimes healing becomes so serious that you start missing the woman who was just living. The one who laughed loud, flirted a little, talked mess, got dressed for no reason, played music too loud, didn’t analyze every feeling, and didn’t turn every emotion into a lesson and homework. I’m over it!
