Drama is profitable.
Chaos pays.Folks will turn their worst day into content if it means the lights stay on.
I get it. I really do.
Sometimes I joke like,
“I’m gonna watch TV tonight…
or maybe I’ll show my butt online for money.”
I say it with a straight face.
People laugh.But underneath the humor is a real question;
What are we trading for freedom these days?
I’ve been sitting with that question longer than I expected to.
Because what freedom looks like keeps changing for me.
Sometimes it looks like money.
Sometimes visibility.
Sometimes rest.
Sometimes silence.
Not all trades are bad; but some cost more than we admit.
So before you scroll away,
before you decide what’s “worth it,”
I want you to sit with this—no judgment, no rush:
What part of you are you offering up in exchange for comfort, approval, or survival right now?
And if you’re honest—does the trade feel aligned, or just familiar?
If freedom didn’t require you to perform, explain, or unravel… what would it ask you to protect instead?
Your body? Your peace? Your truth?
You can laugh.
You can sigh.
You can close the tab and come back later.
Just don’t skip tapping into your truth.
